Arabian Tea House, Al Fahidi: A Heartwarming Journey to the Past

As the temperature cools down, Jimmy and I decide to take a chance going into the warmth of the historical neighborhood of Al Fahidi. Just right in the corner, on a side road, a beautiful Arabian traditional architecture awaits. The Arabian Tea House glows with decorative golden and white light with white and blue themed of furnitures. The ambience is so inviting yet calming and peaceful. It’s giving readiness to take you to the past of the middle eastern world.

This is the restaurant area at the back, the front room is full of guests

So we start our journey from there.

We sit outdoor so we can enjoy the nice weather while watching the passersby walking or driving along the quiet road. A hot capuccino and a hot black tea in a gorgeous blue pot keep us company through out the evening. A plate of the Arabian Tea House paratha sandwich filled with juicy and smoky beef satiates our palate before our next move to explore the neighborhood.

The Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood holds the heritage of the middle east proudly. Local shops in the old buildings present you with traditional clothes, jewelry stones, paintings, perfumes, and so many more. You must probably master the art of haggling if you want to bring some home. But the shop keepers (or owners?) are so friendly and make you feel welcomed even if you end up not buying anything.

We walk further more into the maze. Kinda hard to navigate the way as the night crawls in and there is not many lights around. The block that we explore turns out only a small piece of the entire neighborhood. Before we know it we already reach the other point of entry that we have to walk back to get into our car. But because it is getting dark and not so much to see, we circle the outter part which is the parking lot.

I would say I really enjoy the experience. It is a nice and heartwarming getaway in the busy and modern city like Dubai.

PS: Let’s connect on the other side too!
